NPP Will Not Release 2024 Election Report - Oppong Nkrumah

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s Constitutional and Legal Committee, says the party has no intention of publishing its full internal report on the 2024 general election. Speaking during an interview on Monday, the Ofoase Ayirebi MP explained that the decision stems from the sensitive nature of the report’s contents, which include internal strategies and what he termed trade secrets. He stressed that it is not customary for political parties, in Ghana or abroad, to disclose such information publicly. No, we will not be publishing that report to the general public.
Political parties don’t do that because it also contains some trade secrets, sensitive information. So no political party does that, he clarified. Instead, he noted, the party has opted to release a summary version, which leadership believes accurately reflects the report’s key findings and has already begun informing internal reforms. The summary that we believe captures it, we have put it out and we have responded to or we’ve started the process of responding to, he added. Responding to critics who claim the party has not sufficiently reflected on its defeat in the 2024 polls, the former Information Minister rebutted, It is not true that we have not done serious introspection on the report.
