Aisha Huang Admits Offence
Galamsey queen Aisha Huang admitted to breaching the immigration law when she appeared in court. This was after she changed her plea in the immigration offence she is facing at the High Court from not guilty to guilty. She has, therefore, been convicted on her plea for entering Ghana while she had been prohibited.
The judgement has however been deferred until the entire trial is over. She maintained her plea of not guilty on the three counts of undertaking a mining operation without a license, facilitating the participation of persons engaged in a mining operation and the illegal employment of foreigners.
After months of trial, Aisha Huang decided to change her plea in the immigration offence. The decision follows the prosecution’s presentation of its last witness, an immigration officer who testified to Aisha Huang entering the country illegally.
