Ghana Water Shuts Down Kpong Plant For Repairs

Ghana Water Limited has announced a temporary disruption in water supply across the Tema Metropolis and major parts of Accra due to emergency repair works at the Kpong Water Treatment Plant. According to a press release issued on Thursday, August 28, the interruption is a result of damage to the raw water transmission pipeline that feeds the Kpong facility. This has forced an immediate shutdown of the plant to allow engineers to carry out urgent repairs.

The repair work is expected to last for three days, during which time affected residents will experience limited or no water supply.

Areas Affected

The water interruption will impact the entire Tema Metropolis and several Accra communities, including:

Ashaiman
