Man Killed In Fight Over A Woman At Mpasatia

A violent clash over a woman at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region has left one person dead. The deceased, identified as Emmanuel Somuah, had reportedly gone to the apartment he rented for his girlfriend, Cynthia Nyarko, around 5 pm to retrieve some belongings. Upon arrival, he is said to have met another man, known only as Jeff, who was also visiting Cynthia.

Eyewitnesses recount that the unexpected meeting sparked a heated exchange that escalated into a violent struggle.

“We heard shouting and the sound of a fight, but moments later everything went silent. When I entered the room, Emmanuel was lying motionless and Cynthia claimed she didn’t know what had happened,” one witness told reporters. What has stunned many is the account that when the woman was asked to help her boyfriend after he collapsed, she said she did not care if he died.

Emmanuel was rushed on a tricycle to the nearest health facility but was pronounced dead on arrival. Police have arrested Cynthia Nyarko to assist with investigations, while efforts are underway to track down Jeff, who fled the scene. The Atwima Mponua District Police Command says a full investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to Emmanuel’s death.
