V/R: VRA builds teachers quarters at Wusuta Resettlement School

At a brief ceremony held to hand over the site to a contractor on Wednesday, the Executive Director of the VRA Trust Fund, Richard Twum told journalists that the facility which is expected to be completed in the next five months would provide free

accommodation for teachers in ensuring that they are comfortable enough to give out their very best. He said, “We are much aware of the importance of education and when we are talking about education we can’t leave out the teacher. Though there is a

seemingly over concentration on the student when it comes to quality education, we value the teacher and feel that the best way to make the teacher effective is to provide him/her the needed comfort.”

According to the District Chief Executive, Kudjo Attah the initiative is in line with government’s vision to provide every Ghanaian child with accessible quality education, thus the need for the Assembly to

support and supervise the project until it’s completed. He noted that the facility would ensure punctuality on the part of teachers due to its location – on the school premises.

“This is a project that is in line with the resolution and vision of the NPP led government; in ensuring that every Ghanaian child has access to quality education and so to do that, providing accommodation for teachers makes that vision more achievable.

I believe this would afford the teachers the opportunity to be present in school at all times, offer extra tuition and to give proper supervision to our children, thus the District Assembly would monitor this project to ensure the delivery of quality work.”
