Arrests Made At Asawase Raid Exposes Hidden Abortion Clinic

An illegal abortion clinic and an unlicensed drugstore have been uncovered in a slum near the Peleele Stream at Asawase, the capital of the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region. The facilities, operating without approval, were discovered during a swoop by the local security council, led by the MCE, Ben Abdallah Alhassan, on 9 July.
This is a serious health threat to our youth and community, said Alhassan. There is a lot of illicit use of drugs among the youth over there, endangering the environment through the poor sanitation in the enclave. Some drugs have been seized for further investigations as part of efforts to clamp down on drug abuse and related crimes in the area.
