Assembly Members Attacked By Unknown Assailants In Asokore Mampong

 

 

Two Members of the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly have been rushed to the Manhyia District Hospital after unknown men allegedly attacked them during a meeting at Assembly’s building. The members are accusing the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, of sending the men to attack them

 

after they raised issues about the unfair distribution of streetlights to Assembly members. Assembly Members say MCE sidelined them in distribution of streetlights meant for the 15 electoral areas in the municipality. The members say the men barged into the meeting and targeted them without provocation. As I speak to you, I

 

 

have received three hot slaps from these thugs for no reason at all. They held my neck pushing me to the wall. They just wanted to kill because I was just fighting for something due my electoral area, one of the victims told the media. Those who also sustained injuries have been issued medical forms by the Asokore Mampong District Police Command to be taken to hospital.
