Bawumia Must Resign From Economic Management Team – Minority

 

 

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, remains the main figure to also be held accountable for Ghana’s economic crisis, the Minority in Parliament has said. As some Majority MPs and the Minority in Parliament piled pressure on the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, the Minority Spokesperson on Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson,

 

stressed that Dr. Bawumia needed to “resign as the Chairman of the Economic Management Team now to save the Ghanaian cedi and the economy of Ghana.” The Minority said it would have used its power to go after the Vice President if that was possible. “I believe that he [Ofori-Atta] did not do this alone. Majority MPs had called for the dismissal of Mr Ofori Atta, and the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen. The Minority has also filed a motion for a vote of censure on the Finance Minister.
