Communications Ministry Won’t Handle DTT Platform Anymore - Ursula Owusu
The Ministry of Communications and Digitalization has revealed that government has advanced the processes to settle on a company that will oversee the migration from Analogue Terrestrial Television transmission to to the Digital Terrestrial Television. The move which is in conformity with the International Telecommunications
Union requirements will ensure effective and efficient collection of TV license through the use of technology. Government has also already completed the necessary infrastructure that will be used by the company for the migration with the establishment of the Central Digital Transmission Company Limited. The Minister for the
Communications and Digitalization, Ursula spoke to the media on the progress made so far. She stated that the Communications and Digitalization Ministry will no longer handle the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) but instead find a replacement company to work with. As you are aware, the Ministry of the Communication and
the Digitalization will also not be managing the Digital Terrestrial Television platform for transmitting all your content to the country. The Digital Migration policy that has been approved by Cabinet mandates that we set up a company to come and then manage this on our joint behalf, and we're also in the process of identifying the personnel who will do it, she also stated.
