Five Arrested For Inflicting Cutlass Wounds On Alleged Witch In Savannah Region
The Savannah regional police has on Sunday August 30, 2020 arrested five persons at Sumpini for attacking and inflicting cutlass wounds on a woman in her house, on suspicions of being a witch. The victim Mma Meri who
was attacked on Saturday night is currently at the West Gonja Hospital seeking medical care. Suspects; Zakaria Abdul Karim, Shaibu Iddrisu, Atta Alhassan, Salugu Isahaku and ‘Dagban Naa’ Haruna Jebuni are currently
in police custody. The Police has also cautioned the members of the community that any person or group of persons who takes the law into their own hands would be arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law. The five would be arraigned before court after being charged with the appropriate offences.
