I Will Institute A National Day Of Prayer And Thanksgiving Every Year - Mahama
John Mahama, has reaffirmed his commitment to establishing a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving to be observed annually. Speaking at a thanksgiving service at the Assemblies of God Church in Accra on Sunday, Mahama highlighted the significance of dedicating time as a nation to express collective gratitude and seek divine direction for the country’s progress.
He noted that such an initiative would foster unity, promote spiritual reflection, and reinforce the nation’s reliance on God in overcoming challenges and achieving its aspirations. “I have announced that when I become president, I will institute a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving every year. Every year as a nation we will take time off to pray and thank God and I am going to be a significant part of that thanksgiving,” Mahama stated.
Mahama also expressed his gratitude to his family and supporters who stood by him throughout the campaign. “Now I give thanks to my wife Lordina and my children who have been through this with me. All of them became campaigners and were seen on the campaign trail… I want to thank my siblings. They have given me great support… I want to thank Ring Way Gospel Centre,” he added. Mahama’s initiative aims to foster a sense of unity and reflection among Ghanaians, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to faith and gratitude.
