John Mahama Must Reform Current Judicial System - Sam George
The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, is calling on President-elect John Dramani Mahama to take drastic measures to reform the judiciary. Sam George has alleged that the current judiciary is infiltrated with individuals who indirectly work for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), thereby shielding corrupt appointees from prosecution. Sam George cited the Mills administration’s 35 prosecutions that were allegedly thwarted by the judiciary.
He emphasised that purging the judiciary of party activists is essential to restoring transparency and accountability. He stated that Mahama, within the first 120 days must clean up the judiciary, warning that failure to do so would spark rebellion from within. The Mills administration carried about 35 prosecution but we had the judiciary that literally shielded appointees of the former government. and that why one of the first things President Mahama must do is to purge our current judiciary, clean out the judiciary of party activists.
That’s the first thing he must do in 120 days. People sitting in the current judiciary setup who are more than national executives of the NPP, who are simply there to protect the looters of this current government, must go with this government. the Ghanaian people demand that President Mahama and we’ll insist he does, else President Mahama will have rebellion from within.
