Kyei Mensah Urges Politicians To Reconcile Differences During Yuletide

 

 

Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has urged political actors in the country in the spirit of Christmas to reconcile differences especially in the aftermath of the elections. According to him, there is a need for unity after such a rancorous campaign period. The National Democratic Congress Minority has not fully accepted

 

the outcome of the polls but the Suame MP says the yuletide must mark a new beginning. Mr. Kyei Mensah Bonsu congratulated the MPs that emerged victorious in the polls saying they put up a good fight. Many have returned and they are going to be part of the Eight Parliament. He also had words of encouragement for

 

 

the MPs who lost, many of whom were on the Majority side as the NDC won enough seats to cause a hung Parliament. Both parties won 137 seats apiece. In all, 130 MPs will not return to Parliament in 2021. Of the 130; 14 voluntarily decided not to seek re election while 50 failed in their bid to be re elected during their various

 

 

parliamentary primaries. 65 others lost parliamentary elections. They should not be daunted because in this world when one door is closed, another may be opened. For those of them who were not successful let me wish them better luck next time. I know some of them would want to stage a comeback.
