Man Lynched After Attempting To Steal Bus

A man believed to be in his mid-30s has been lynched at Asafo in Kumasi Wednesday dawn after attempting to steal a bus. The deceased tried to drive away one of the Grand Bird buses with the registration number GE-2384 belonging to the V.I.P. Transport Company but the driver’s mate and some members of the public around pursued the suspect and arrested him.

The suspect was beaten with objects resulting in his death shortly after the mob attack. “When the driver and his mate were pursuing the suspect while driving the stolen bus, upon sensing danger, the suspect jumped from the bus. In the process the bus was moving without a driver and started hitting people in the vehicle Parking space.

But luck eluded the deceased suspect and he was then arrested with the support of some community members and was beaten to death. That’s all I can say about the incident,” an eyewitness said. Meanwhile the Asokwa district police command has conveyed the lifeless body of the suspect to morgue for preservation. Investigation has commenced into the incident.
