Stay Away From Retail Business - Circle Traders To Foreign Traders

Eric Gyamfi, Chairman of the Circle Traders Association (MPADA), has issued a stern warning to foreigners engaged in retail trade in Ghana, urging them to halt their operations immediately. Addressing a press conference in Accra, Mr. Gyamfi called on the government to strictly enforce the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) law to curb the growing presence of foreign mobile phone dealers in the local market.
He expressed concern that despite repeated warnings, foreign traders continue to dominate the retail space, creating unfair competition for Ghanaian businesses. As part of their protest, the Association has shut down all shops at Tip Toe Lane in Accra to press home their demands. Disappointed customers who visited Tip Toe Lane to purchase mobile phones expressed frustration and urged the government to act swiftly to address the situation and support local traders.
