Supreme Court To Rule On Gyakye Quayson’s Case Today

The Supreme Court will later today, Wednesday, rule on an application seeking to stop James Gyakye Quayson from working as the Member of Parliament for the Assin North. Michael Ankomah-Nimfah, who also brought the application to the Supreme Court told Court that James Gyakye Quayson’s continuous stay in office despite a High Court Judgment annulling his election offended the constitution, and was not fair to the people of the Assin North. The embattled Member of Parliament appealed against the High Court Judgment but was struck out for failing to file written submissions within the mandatory period.
