Tamale: 30 Suspected Criminals Arrested In Police Swoop

The Northern Regional Police Command have embarked on an operation at various criminal hideouts especially the forest in Tamale Metropolis. The operation resulted in arrest of about 30 suspected criminals from various hideouts in Tamale. Police seized about 40 motorbikes and some leafs suspected to be Indian hemp. Operation
is as a result of recent criminal activities such as the car snatching, the residential robberies, highway robberies also among other criminal activities in the metropolis. Addressing the media, the Northern Regional Crime Officer, Supt. Bernard Baba Ananga said they believe the hideouts are places where criminals use to perpetrate
crime in the metropolis reason why they attacked those places. According to him, their aim is to ensure that they tackle the current criminal activities in the metropolis so that residents will be able to live in peace and go about their normal duties. He also indicated that the arrested persons will be screened and that whoever is linked with
any criminal activities will be arraigned. Supt. Ananga assured residents in the Tamale metropolis and its surroundings that the police will ensure that the metropolis is safe and peaceful.
