Three People Burnt To Death In Motorbike Collision At Manso Watreso

Three people have been burnt to death following a road crash involving two motorbikes at Manso Watreso in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region. Eyewitnesses report that the incident occurred on Monday when two speeding motorbikes, one carrying two riders and the other with a single rider, collided head-on, causing both bikes to burst into flames.
Attempts by bystanders to extinguish the fire and save the victims were unsuccessful until personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and the police arrived at the scene and managed to douse the flames. According to the Assembly Member for the area, one person died on the spot, while the two others, who were rushed to the hospital, later succumbed to their injuries.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, August 5, the Assembly Member for the Manso Watreso Electoral Area, Kofi Mensah, revealed that preliminary investigations suggest one of the motorbikes was transporting fuel. The fuel is believed to have triggered the explosion upon impact, resulting in the fatal blaze. Although the police are yet to confirm the identities of the deceased as investigations are ongoing, the charred remains have been deposited at the St. Martin’s Hospital morgue in Agroyesum.
