Three Persons Drown After Car Crashes Into River
Three persons aboard a private Hyundai Sonata car with the registration number GS 777-16 have been confirmed dead after crashing into a river along Accra to Kumasi highway. The crash occured at Enyiresi in the Eastern region. The driver of the Hyundai vehicle lost control, somersaulted and then plunged into a nearby river when attempting to swerve on coming Sprinter bus, which was overtaking another vehicle ostensibly to avoid head-on collision.
All three persons aboard the vehicle made up of two female and a male drowned instantly. A joint rescue team by Police and personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service towed the vehicle from the river and then retrieved the bodies for preservation Engresi Hospital morgue pending identification by family members.
