Customs Officer dies in a gory accident on the Accra-Kumasi road

 

 

An officer with the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) whose name has been given as Kwame Atiso has lost his life through a gory accident off the Kumasi-Accra highway. Kwame Atiso’s Toyota Matrix

 

Car with registration number GR-3100-09 collided with head-on with Mitsubishi Pajero with registration number  GW-1321-X  driven by Godwin K Sherrie, 60 years, with two other persons  Robert Owoo, 50, and

 

 

Michael Hylton Dei, 35, onboard. The accident happened at the Nkawada No.2  near Nkawkaw stretch of the Accra to Kumasi Highways at about 7:00 am Thursday. However, when occupants of both cars were

 

 

rushed to Kenop Care Hospital for treatment in Nkawkaw, Kwame Atiso, the customs officer died shortly on arrival while the others have been treated and discharged.

 

 

Atiso has since been deposited at the hospital morgue pending an autopsy. Acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command Sargeant Francis Gomado Godwin K Sherrie is with the Police to assist in the investigations. Meanwhile, the two cars have been towed and impounded for examination.
