Finance Minister Inaugurates New Financial Intelligence Centre board



The Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has inaugurated a new seven-member board for the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), charging them to intensify efforts in combating financial crimes in Ghana. The new Board, chaired by Mr Mike Kofi Afflu, includes the following members;


Mr Albert Kwadwo Twum Boafo – Chief Executive

Ms Grace Mbrokoh-Ewoal – Representative from the Ministry of Finance

Ms Elizabeth Ama Yankah – Representative from National Security

Dr Kwasi Osei Yeboah – Member

A Senior Police Officer representing the Ministry of the Interior

A Representative from the Attorney-General’s Department.


Dr Forson underscored the critical role of the FIC in safeguarding Ghana’s financial system, especially amid increasing threats posed by money laundering, terrorism financing, and other sophisticated financial crimes.


He called on the Board to support the Centre in strengthening its institutional capacity and deepen collaboration with both local and international partners. The FIC, Ghana’s national agency responsible for receiving and analysing financial intelligence related to suspicious transactions, is seen as pivotal in enhancing financial transparency and accountability.
