Ghana’s Economy Safer In The Hands Of NPP Than NDC - Akufo-Addo

 

 

President Nana Akufo Addo has made a last minute appeal to Ghanaians to vote for him to serve a second four-year term in office. In a national address barely two days to the 2020 general elections, Nana Akufo Addo said his government has proven to be better managers of the economy than the John Mahama government. He said his government worked hard to within its first year,

 

turn around the fortunes of the economy after cleaning up the mess of the Mahama government. Never again shall we allow management of our economy to get into the hands that will lead us into another financial and banking crisis. Cleaning up after the NDC is far too much work and cost. We should use such energies to harness the dynamism and enthusiasm of our young

 

 

people to build Ghana, the president said. The NDC has showed that the economy is not safe in their hands, he added. According to President Akufo-Addo, the NPP government ended intermittent power outages that started under the NDC government. He said the NPP government among other things has ensured that the country’s economy has grown stronger and Ghana has

 

 

regained its good reputation on the global stage. He said in the area of agriculture, the government through its Planting for Food and Jobs programme has ensured abundant food in the country’s markets and Ghana exports surplus of its foodstuff to other countries. On the Free SHS policy, Akufo Addo said his government has put to shame those who ridiculed him when he first proposed it as a campaign promise. He said, it took

 

 

courage and hard work but I believe we were able to do it because we believed in it. Free SHS is a policy that will transform our country and we in the NPP are proud to have had the courage to implement it, he added. The NPP flagbearer said the government intends to make the Free SHS policy a major public policy and that will only happen if Ghanaians vote for him to give him a second term and vote for all the NPP parliamentary candidates.
