Man Kills Girlfriend At Kasoa

A 26 year old fashion designer, Mabel Asantewaa, has met her untimely death after her boyfriend allegedly stabbed her multiple times at Kalabule Chinese, near the Kasoa Tollbooth in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. It is reported that the suspect, identified as a 28 year old carpenter, Bra Sammy, allegedly attacked Mabel in a washroom after she declined his request for sex because she was menstruating.

Police sources report that a heated argument erupted, leading to the suspect stabbing the victim multiple times. After the attack, Bra Sammy allegedly ingested a toxic substance in an apparent suicide attempt. He was quickly transported to the Amanfrom Polyclinic, where he is currently receiving care under police supervision.

Eyewitnesses described the incident as shocking, recalling that the couple appeared to be on good terms before the conflict. The Weija Divisional Police Command has taken over the investigation, which is ongoing. This comes after the gruesome murder of a 21 year old house help identified as Abena at East Legon.

The young woman, who travelled from Nkawkaw to Accra in hopes of working to support her sick mother, is said to have been killed by her employer, a 49 year old businessman. Reports suggest that Abena had only been working for three months before the tragedy occurred. Her body was discovered with parts, including her breasts, fingers, toes and private organs missing. This has led to widespread suspicion that the murder may be connected to ritual practices.
