Stay In Private Sector If Unprepared To Work Hard - Mahama To Potential Appointees
John Mahama

President-elect John Mahama has issued a stern warning to prospective appointees in his incoming administration, urging them to avoid seeking government positions if they are unprepared to work diligently. Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and his delegation on Thursday, December 12, Mahama stressed that Ghanaians expect effective and accountable leadership, adding that there is no room for complacency or unproductiveness in his government.

“Ghanaians are slow to react and if they have enough of you, they will punish you. So, I want to urge those who are aspiring to work with the new government, that it is not going to be easy, or business as usual. “It is going to be hard work. So, if you are not prepared to work hard and to sacrifice for Ghana, then you better stay in the private sector.” Mahama was declared the winner of the 2024 general elections by the Electoral Commission (EC), on Monday, December 9.
