I Will Miss Your Laughter In Our Home - Alhaji Mohammed Muniru's Wife

The wife of the late Alhaji Mohammed Muniru, Mrs. Hajia Zahara Ligbi has acknowledged she will miss the sound of his laughter at home in a glowing tribute at the final state funeral held at the Black Star Square in Accra on Friday 15, 2025.‎ I will miss your laughter in our home, your gentle reassurances in times of difficulty, and your quiet strength that made me feel safe no matter the storm. I will hold on to every memory, every lesson, and every blessing that our marriage brought me’, she said.  She described him for the twenty-eight years they had walked life’s journey together as her partner in life, her confidant, counsellor and truest friend.

According to her, he was the person she could lean on in her weakest moments and the one she could laugh with in her happiest days. He gave her love that was constant and deep, and made their home a place of warmth, love, mutual respect and faith. Alhaji Muniru Mohammed tragically lost his life along with seven other officials while carrying out their official duties Speaking on his career path, she mentioned that she saw the man behind the public figure. I saw the discipline that guided your actions, the compassion that touched those around you, and the strength that carried not only our family but the responsibilities of a nation, she added.

She also spoke about how the late Alhaji Muniru bore the demands of public service with patience, diligence and dignity, yet never allowed that to overshadow the love and attention he gave at home. She recalled that his gift was not only leadership, it was the ability to make family wherever he went. In every region of the country, his presence was felt because he opened his heart and sponsored education for those he promised. According to her, he also settled disputes with calm wisdom and always stood beside the vulnerable when they had no one else.

Because of you, our family grew beyond blood, stretching across the length and breadth of Ghana, held together by trust, gratitude and love. You were a man of principle, yet you carried those principles with humility. You inspired loyalty not because you demanded it, but because you earned it through your character. You touched lives in ways that cannot be counted, and your absence will leave a space that no one can fill’’  Hajia Ligbi concluded with the words, Rest well, my love. I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my days, and I thank Allah for the gift of twenty-eight years by your side.
