One Person Dead In Fire Outbreak At Uncompleted Fuel Station In Ejura



Ali Abubakari, a 25 year old man has been confirmed dead in a fire outbreak that occurred at an uncompleted fuel station at Ejura Babasso in the Ashanti Region on the Tuesday, July 22, 2025. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), in a statement issued on Wednesday, July 23, said the Ejura Fire Station received a distress call around 12:25 p.m. about a fire involving block number E 6264, a location reportedly used for retailing petrol in gallons.






A fire crew led by Station Officer I Daniels Moah was dispatched immediately and arrived at the scene by 12:31 p.m. The team found the structure already engulfed in flames. Firefighters battled the blaze and brought it under control within ten minutes, fully extinguishing it by 12:55 p.m. Despite their swift response, Ali Abubakari was found dead at the scene. His charred body was handed over to officers from the Ejura Police Command for further investigation.






The fire partially damaged the structure and six bags of beans stored nearby. However, another six bags were salvaged by the crew. The GNFS has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire and is cautioning the public against storing or selling petroleum products in unauthorised or unsafe buildings. The Service extended its condolences to the bereaved family and reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property through rapid and professional emergency response.
