Security Guard Killed While Protecting Electricity Transformer At Ojobi

Residents of Ojobi in the Central Region are reeling after the shocking death of 65 year old Alexander Kwaku Boateng, a private security guard who was reportedly killed while protecting a power installation. Kwaku Boateng was found lifeless near the electricity transformer he was assigned to guard. According to police sources, his head had been covered with a plastic bag, and his hands and feet were tightly tied, pointing to a brutal and deliberate act.
Preliminary investigations suggest that he may have confronted individuals who were attempting to steal electrical cables from the transformer. The stolen cables, which are valued at about GH¢250,000, were allegedly taken during the attack. The Gomoa Ojobi District Police Command has so far arrested four people believed to be connected to the incident. Authorities say the arrests were made through an intelligence-led operation.
Meanwhile, four other suspects are still at large, and efforts are underway to track them down. Community members have called for increased security presence in the area and better protection for individuals stationed at isolated facilities. The police are urging anyone with information about the remaining suspects to assist with the ongoing investigations.
