Vice President Pays Courtesy Call On Oguaa Traditional Council

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has appealed to the people of the Central Region to prioritise peace and unity as a means of driving sustainable development in the area. She made the call during a courtesy visit to the Oguamanhene, Nana Dr. Kwesi Attah, at the Emintsimadze Palace in Cape Coast. Professor Opoku-Agyemang donated items, including crates of soft drinks, bottles of whiskey, and cartons of bottled water, to support the 2025 PANAFEST festival slated for July 26.
Addressing traditional leaders and community members, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasised that peaceful coexistence is critical to attracting government attention and securing vital developmental projects for the region.
It is only through peace that we can draw the necessary investments and development to the Central Region,”she stated. She stressed that conflict and division would only hinder progress, urging citizens to work together to build a stronger and more prosperous region. Accompanying the Vice President was her political advisor, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, who expressed optimism about Ghana’s economic recovery. He noted that the recently presented mid-year budget in Parliament offers hope for renewed economic growth under the current administration. Also present were the Central Regional Minister, Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, the Mayor of Cape Coast, George Justice Arthur, and other dignitaries.
The Vice President was warmly received by the Queen Mothers of the area as well as Municipal and District Chief Executives from the region. The Oguamanhene, Nana Dr. Kwesi Attah, welcomed the Vice President and her delegation warmly, expressing gratitude for the visit and acknowledging the significance of such engagements in fostering collaboration between government and traditional leadership.
