Mahama Has No Message; Only Interested In “Edey be Keke” - Freddie Blay
Former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Freddie Blay says the opposition National Democratic Congress flagbearer John Mahama doesn't have a message for Ghanaians, a situation that has led to him resorting to
inciting tribal sentiments. “Mahama doesn’t have a message. He is only interested in ‘edey be keke'”, he disclosed. The National Chairman of the ruling NPP speaking on an Accra based radio station further said
“the only thing the NDC wants to do is to play on the emotions of the people. That is dangerous.” “They don’t have anything to tell Ghanaians… that they will do this or that when we come to power.” He observed.
Nana Akufo Addo is creating the environment for Ghanaians through free SHS, creating an environment for jobs, creating an environment for people to get food and good governance…that is our message.”
“You don’t have a message the only thing is to incite tribal sentiments”, he bemoaned. He explained further that the NPP’s constitution prevents the party from forming leadership or choosing executives from a particular or few regions. “Our national constitution
frowns against forming party based on tribal and regional lines”. He even added that his wife, Gina Blay, who is presently Ghana’s Ambassador to Germany is an Ewe from Ho area. He also cited countries like Liberia, Togo and Ivory Coast where tensions and fights were characterized by tribal sentiments.
